{Lamia's Newsletter} The PORTAL - A place for death and birth
Published 6 months ago • 2 min read
Hi Reader,
Welcome to Metal Season
Grief, grieving, longing for control and communication between self and other, are all associated with the Lungs, Large Intestine and season of Fall.
The only guarantee, that over which we can not reign, is death, and maybe birth. The name Portal means a lot to me. It is a reflection of experiences I have had, in birth rooms and death rooms, of a vibrant life force that carries the exact same energy.
We live in this portal between birth and death, attempting to stay alive AND thrive as we take our turns around the sun.
The veils thinned, a New Moon in Scorpio is upon us and we are in Metal season. Fall is a time of learning that "it's not so much that we have to let go, but that we can't hold on." (Ruth King).
Be it arriving or passing away, a portal opens and the tone remains the same.
Slow cooked stews hold on to nutrients and offer the Spleen Qi ease of digestion. With Lung and Spleen nourishing foods you get the most out of your meal and boost your immunity this Fall!

mmmmmm squash everything!
This year there are 7 of us committed to one week of whole food TCM eating and observing our relationships with food. Our first meet up left me beaming.
If you know someone in this group, give them a cheer, it is hard work to look at food and decide, decide, decide.
