When I think about what this year is offering this is what comes to mind...

We are engaging in deeply real conversations, healing and community.

Along with your health concerns, our sessions are including talks about climate crisis, the ineffable slaughter of civilians, inner city houselessness, horrific misuse of resources and ongoing colonization of the Land beneath my seat.

A question many of us are asking is:
What can we do that will effectively make genocides, colonization and climate crisis turn around?

One answer I have so far is to align with inner truth and take action.

Rest and/or resistance, response and/or reaction. Direct any of changes happening in your life towards a collective end of restored harmony. Ask: What are you willing and able to be responsible for? Often we overcommit and while we might be willing our ability to complete the task is often based on what we "should" be doing, not what we can, or want to, be doing.

What does this have to do with what we are facing these days?

Rooted in Life's harmony, Traditional Medicine Theories & Practices help us to touch freedom and move out of a worldview of punishment into Life's acumen. Right and wrong isn't a judgment in natural law. The Earth, left to its own devices, finds harmony over and over again, making changes as needed. So can we humans. Our's is the work of aligning with spirit/calling/responsibility so as to participate in this harmonious flow. It IS hard work, for everyone, and vital for us all.

Harmony is.

Living in harmony with the world around us isn't an end goal, it is already here. Getting to know how harmony is living in and around us can happen in all kinds of ways. It is a lifelong study, changing with the tides, the tilts of the Earth, the day and night. One way is to align with seasonal foods and habits.

Late Summer centres Earth element. In this time we are nourished by root veggies and asked to contemplate. We put overthinking down, as best we can, and get clear on the present moment and what is next. It is time to get ready for Fall, gather resources, release what we can no longer hold onto and see who we will be sharing harvest with this year.

Aligning Body with Season: Care for your Stomach and Spleen

What is Late Summer?

Traditional East Asian Medicine identifies Late Summer as the period from the 3rd week of August to the Fall Equinox.

This small but mighty season resonates with Spleen and Stomach, Qi & organs, and reflects:

  • The harvest
  • The transition to Fall
  • The reminder that Earth is our center
    and
  • by attending to Spleen and Stomach Qi we prepare our bodies and minds for the fall and winter seasons, boosting immunity and supporting the inward turn. This gives us time to reflect, decide what we want to grow and rest while different parts of us develop in the subconscious.

RELEASE: Community Health Action

I just can't stand money being a barrier to accessing health care so twice a year I lead, gather and offer RELEASE: Community Health Action.

It is free (or by donation).

You will learn about:

  • your Chinese Medicine pattern of harmony
  • what to eat according to the season
  • what you actually want to eat for nourishment and clarity
    plus
  • you will have access to knowledge, practice and experiences that help to re-establish your relationship with food and your body.

I do this twice a year to reset my system, boost my vitality and reduce cravings for habits that no longer serve me. This program intends to free us from cages of diet-culture, sugar riddled meals, disconnection from the body by engaging with sovereignty, ancestral foods and Chinese nutrition to build, or re-build, a harmonious relationship with our bodies.
