Beauty as a resource

Hi Reader,

I am sending you a fierce softness, and an invitation.

This May I encourage you to practice gazing at beauty to cultivate steadiness in embracing reality. Beauty can be used as an attempt to cover over agony and pain, and yet when we practice to face what is, we can more steadily ask, what now?

In this message...

  • Spring has Sprung
  • Magnolia practice
  • Liver loooooves to Stretch
  • RENEWal is ON!

Spring has Sprung

May flowers are blooming! Colours in the natural world are astonishing, and exist by nature's design! That astonishing magnolia, those darling crocuses, and the Fritillaria meleagris, all of them, divine beauty! 😲 πŸ’

The mechanism to not look away is incredibly important, also to decide when, and how much.

A practice of steadiness will bolster decision making, and is useful for knowing what we are willing and able to be responsible for. Getting clear on respons-ability right now is an integral part of healing, one and all.

Spring is rich with Qi flow in the Liver/Gall Bladder, and beauty all around, to support us in embracing life as it is.

Gall Bladder Qi connects to having the "Gall" to do something. Physically the Gall Bladder provides bile to the digestive system to help break down fats, energetically it provides the "oomph" to keep things moving.

We are in a time of decision making, big feelings, strategy and taking action towards massive healing for the Land and its people, ecosystems and future life. This includes you.

Magnolia practice

With any magnolia, or nature that catches your eye, take a moment to steady your gaze. Notice the intricate transition from pinky purple to white, the fullness, strength and presence of each petal... gaze and hold steady at what you see in that moment.

Do this at least once a day, more often if possible.

A practice like this supports the system to concentrate, observe and see more than meets the eye.

Practice with things that are not distressing to meet the terrible as it arises.

Liver season looooooooooves to stretch!

The Liver is paired with the Gall Bladder and this channel is where a lot of the Liver Qi stagnation overflow builds up.

The Gall Bladder channel originates at the outer corner of the eye, loops down and up to the forehead within the hairline, descends behind the ear to the corner of the skull. It then returns to the forehead arcing across the side of the head, descends to the back of the head, down the side of the body, meets the Bladder Meridian at the sacrum and runs down the outside of the leg, ending on the 4th toe.

This channel traverses both sides of the body in a zig zag style and it does a fair bit of holding on to info in all those twists and turns.

When our Gall Bladder channel is full it gets stuck, and when it is stuck it is harder to make decisions.

RENEWal is on!

There are a bunch of folks rolling through RENEW 2025 and we will meet again tomorrow to connect about integration. Folks are making great food, benefitting and learning so much, myself included! If you wanna try this program yourself look out for RELEASE 2025 in the fall.

One of my main takeaways from RENEW 2025 is that when I quit sugar it sucks at first, but then it really shifts and I have noticed I don't grasp for it after a few days. I love this! Years ago I learned about the roots of the sugar industry in the transatlantic slave trade and it is one of the reasons I love to take it out twice a year, keeping my longing for refined sugar low!

I want you to have high quality care...

If you have stress, pain, low capacity, grief or trauma or some physical ailment please reach out or book in with me. I also have great referrals if I what I have to offer isn't quite what you need.

May your Qi flow freely and, with it, freedom itself,

Lamia
